School Health and Counseling
The school health and counseling department at Buckingham School focuses on supporting students and their families, strengthening the diversity of learning. With a team of psychologists, phonoaudiologists and occupational therapists, we provide a space for students to freely express their emotional, social and learning situations. Through active listening and dialogue, we work to create tools to address their challenges.
In addition, we conduct weekly activities to develop social-emotional competencies, improve study habits and work on life projects. We focus on addressing social and emotional needs, implementing prevention programs on issues such as sexuality and risk situations. We also offer ongoing training for parents, supporting them in the development of their children’s socioemotional skills to strengthen their well-being and growth.
Phonoaudiology
The main function of the phonoaudiology area is the preventive stimulation in the first years of schooling, in the areas of oral language and/or writing, oral communication and thinking. Likewise, the speech therapist supports foreign students in the acquisition of Spanish as a second language.
