In the latest publication by Sapiens Research, marking the twelfth edition of the Col-Sapiens Ranking, Buckingham School has proudly secured the 8th position nationwide.
This prestigious ranking evaluates the top Colombian schools based on category, quality, and international accreditation. Out of more than 14,500 institutions analysed, only 880 made the cut, highlighting our remarkable achievement as the fourth best school in Bogotá.

How has the school managed to remain a leader in so many editions of the Col-Sapiens Ranking?
Our institution is distinguished by its unwavering pursuit of excellence in providing a holistic education to our students, both nationally and internationally. We don’t just follow trends; we implement them to the highest standards.
We continually seek out world-renowned certifications and programmes, collaborating closely with leading organisations to exchange best practices and receive ongoing feedback.
For this reason, even as a Colombian school, we have one of the highest percentages of international students (20%), demonstrating the trust placed in us by families who frequently relocate and are well-versed in global educational offerings.
What are the educational and managerial strategies that the institution employs to achieve such positive outcomes in the Col-Sapiens Ranking?
Our vision has been clear from the outset: to equip our students with the skills necessary to excel in both the International Baccalaureate and the Saber exams.
This approach begins in Preschool, where students are introduced to the Finnish Hei curriculum, which aims to enhance all fundamental learning skills through play. It is worth noting that we are the only school in Colombia implementing the Hei curriculum.
From Preschool onwards, we also begin incorporating socio-emotional skills through our international programme, The Leader in Me, which introduces seven key habits for character development, achievement orientation, and the pursuit of excellence, understood as always striving to do one’s best in every endeavour. The Leader in Me at Buckingham has been recognised globally as an exemplary curriculum for holistic education, making us the only school in Colombia with this certification.
For 20 consecutive years, we have been ISO9001 certified, making us one of the first schools in Colombia to achieve this standard. This certification ensures that all our processes are focused on continuous improvement. Internationally, we are accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), which evaluates our pedagogical processes and requires us to meet the standards of the best schools worldwide.
